![]() Lots of people on blue like to complain about how expensive gear is compared to their memories of live, and everyone likes to throw around the argument that prices are relatively higher than live because of the relatively slow timeline on blue resulting in lots of people spending lots of time farming lots of PP (and then the newer and/or awesomer gear is VERY expensive because there is relatively little of it compared to the number of people who want it and the amount of PP they have to spend).
So how much does red gear cost in red platinum compared to what blue gear costs in blue platinum? Is red gear relatively more or less expensive, or the same? Just curious. I just tried to look at the top couple pages of the red EC forums but quickly gave up on that. Too many people are on my ignore list, too many people are asking for cross-server deals, too many people don't list any prices whatsoever.

![]() Red is much cheaper and there's a huge excess of end game gear. There's no market for low or mid range shit on red because of this.

![]() So the low population caused more of a excess of gear than the low population and relatively short timeline caused platinum inflation? Guess that answers that.
Probably the ability to pay blue pp for red stuff didn't help things.

![]() I'm fairly certain red has a lot of illegally gained platinum on it which doesn't help it's economy either. Most players on the server are in possession of liquid assets around 20-50k and there is no shortage of players in possession of 250-500k +.
Add into that the risk involved in doing a large coin trade on a pvp server and the animosity between rival players on the server and you rarely see any trading done. Red really needs to work on the guard assist for pvp so that places like neriak and kelethin can be used as trade hubs and the economy can start to pick up.

![]() Stein of Moggok (blue) = 250-300
Stein of Moggok (red) = 450-500 Traders tend to go to a ratio of 3:1 on plat if you want to transfer some from blue to red (ie - your 30k plat on blue is worth 10k of red plat)
