To me if GOD does exist and he is going to let men write his inspired word! I think it would be perfect. Like only a GOD could be. He's GOD why would he let anything be written that wasn't true. If GOD does exist is he not able to do that?

The Old testament history of his people the bloodline of Jesus. One story after another is the ancestry of Jesus. The New testament is Jesus revealed as the old is Jesus concealed. The more we know about who Jesus was and is the more we see him in the Old Testament. Every number name etc etc has some meaning. NO I don't understand it all and never will. Nor will anyone. GOD chooses to whom he reveals certain things too.

So no matter how smart you are ...GOD does not care. He wants the dumb and smart alike to believe blindly that he exist! And once we come to him humbly and needing him, then FOLLOWING him then he starts to reveal and understand to us. UNDERSTANDING comes after obedience not before! Otherwise no one would be obedient. The bible is meant to be taken literal. Not for us to pick and choose. It's so easy! GOD doesn't want us to change he wants to change us! We are all sinners not because we choose to be but because we were born that way!
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all men, because all sinned. Romans 5:12 (ADAM)
As a believer in Christ you believe that he came to save us from the past, present, and future sin! Amen!
All you gotta do is get down on your knees and ask him! The bible says that one day every knee will bow... So we can choose now or later but it's going to happen! (If he exist)
I pray for all of you but rather then mocking GOD If you don't believe just start searching for him.... He's there. And guess what if you die one day and he doesn't you have nothing to lose. But tomorrow is not promised to any of us! And the way the world is going it doesn't look like much more of this is promised to all of us!

I hope I didn't offend you, or anyone else, as that was not my intent. Personally, I feel that religion (or spirituality, or mythology) is very important to the human race and I'm a little worried about what the future holds if we keep demonizing it as something that hinders progress. My family is very much Christian, and many of them choose to make it their lives (studying it in college, becoming pastors, etc.), which I think is wonderful. A few of them, like yourself, choose to interpret the Bible literally. If that's what it means for you to get closer to God, then so be it. I just disagree, is all. This is all just my opinion.
Christianity is a very valid and true path to God. So are the other Abrahamic religions, those found in Asia and in Africa. Even ancient civilizations discovered the pathways to God. It's all just a part of being human, and what I find so interesting about mythology is that so many different civilizations discovered strikingly similar ways to go about this. What I said about the Noah's Ark story, earlier?

There are stories like this found in mythology from ancient China, India, Greece, and even from the Mayans. There are probably more, but I've only read these ones. I'm not posting this to somehow disprove you, but rather to make my own point. Myth/religion is an effort to both understand what it means to be human, and to bring us closer to God. The flood stories were written and told in times and places that faced terrible destruction at the hands of mother nature. People want answers, and sometimes those answers lie beyond the realm of language.
Religion and mythology exists because we have questions such as, "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
And it's my belief that the answers to these questions exist, but are utterly ineffable. This is why I believe it's blasphemous to even use the word "God". God is beyond rational comprehension, so I think it's great that we're capable of moving beyond reason. God needs to be experienced, not understood and quantified.
I don't trust any pastor or priest that seems to think they know all the answers. The Bible is a pathway to God, but when someone tells me that they understand it I feel deep down that they're actually using it as a barrier between them and God. Because much like the flood story, the "fall from grace", or "human condition" (Adam and Eve) is very much a part of mythologies old and new around the world, and they all tell us the same thing: we have separated ourselves from God, and will suffer for it. I know I'm suffering, and I'm not Christian so Jesus may not have been my key back in. Kinda seems like it is human nature to keep ourselves separated from God.
