Default Tried and Failed

After much anguish with the "error 1018" bug and posting my problem under technical discussion, I found this new post for help. I followed the steps with no success. I myself do not understand how the program could be recognizing a player in the game when I had no "name_project1999.ini files" remaining in the directory. I replaced all my files and still have the same error. There has to be a viable solution to this problem for people who are unwilling to lose all their gear to start over.

Default Nonactive character logged on over night

My problems with the error 1018 bug also began after I accidentally I left a nonactive character logged on over night, and camped/logged the character off after I realized this. When I went to log back on hours later, the error 1018 bug began.

The act of leaving a nonactive character logged on for several hours seems to have some causal connection to the error 1018 bug.

I thought the error had somehow fixed itself when it mysteriously stopped last weekend; the error 1018 bug, however, returned today, and none of the solutions that I have discovered have worked.

I have accounts that have no characters on them who experience this issue. Even on accounts with characters, correct /camp logouts will do nothing to solve the problem. The error will come and go as it pleases.

There is a server side implementation bug in checking for "Active Characters". See my post here detailing this issue: http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...d.php?t=105606

Take note of the straggling patch note that was crossed out years ago about fixing Error 1018 oddities.
