![]() It's a waste of space. Blue generates more than enough donations to be self sustaining. There have been multiple revival efforts, but every time they fail.

![]() I say make hte rules simper. Keep a hands off approach as much as possible. Quido was right.
And make it team-play. I think that'd help. With hte experience bonus and and 4 level PvP limit (and whatever else) there's not a lot to complain about, unless you can't stomach open world PvP, and a lot of people can't. Maybe that's the problem. Some people just aren't meant for this.

![]() And btw many PvP MMO's are wiping regularly--maybe in several month intervals--because of the affects of a top-heavy veteran population feasting on the levelers or casuals. There're lots of twinked and raid players on Red now. Wiping only solves the problem for a short period of time.
Frankly, one of the joys of open world PvP is smashing someone else with your uber twink/raid char. It's a part of progression, especially in PvP/PvE hybrids. However, maybe some attention can be given to this? Red has been going for several years now, right? Maybe a wipe would be a good thing.

![]() And btw, regarding rulesets, I played on Sullon Zek back in the day. The rules don't get much more "hands off" than that. Every zone was FFA. You lost your carried money when you died. My preference in any PvP MMO is usually a simple rule system. I don't like too many Play Nice rules because they ruin the atmosphere, especially in open world PvP. Built-in rules are better, as well players enforce the rules themselves.

![]() I think a wipe would be good for red. Most PvP MMO's are wiping regularly now. Top-heavy problems are the reason. Longtime players are usually so strong they starve the competition. However, since this is Everquest and progression is very important in PvP/PvE hybrids, I don't think wipes should be frequent on red. Given Red has probably existed for several years, I think a wipe is appropriate. BUT it'd be nice if they warned us ahead of time. Right now, I'm not very confident about playing on Red, since I feel a wipe is a distinct possiblity.
Another idea is to wipe and restart as a team-play server. That'd serve two purposes. It'd wipe the slate clean, regarding the field of play, and it'd encourage new people to try the server. Team-play is inherently better in terms of giving players a safer leveling environment. But I also think the Play Nice rules should be simplified. Quido is right it should be "hands off". They should either try to make these rules built-in, or try to resovle them indirectly. For example, the leaderboards on live didn't reward you for killing the same player repeatedly. This indirectly discourages something which is normally a Play Nice rule.

![]() Wipe + simpler or less Play Nice rules + Team-play + Leaderboard + unban past non-hacker accounts.
I'd go for that, or two or three of them. Wipe. To decrease the top-heaviness and twinked chars. This is always temporary benefit, but in PvP MMO's helpful. Hands-off rules. Too many Play Nice rules kills open world PvP, plain and simple. It's not compatible with classic-era Everquest. Team-play. Creates a safer harbor for leveling players. Good for roleplaying. Encourages new people to play on Red. Leaderboard. Can indirectly encourage Play Nice. Keeps people killing for leaderboard position. Gives big picture. Unban non-hacker accounts. Too many people are banned for being di***. This happens with too many rules and corrupt GM's. I've always tolerated griefers. I never liked them. Maybe that explains my feelings about Play Nice rules. But honestly, reading the LootnScoot rules just made me vomit. The spirit is good, but it's overcooked.
