no, kill the innocent here. its the only way. then people will think twice before MQing for huge sums of money that they know have RMT origins... or suspect... instead of greeding out.

ban them all and let their knowledge of ip spoofing sort them out.

you and your friend wont be missed
How should we go about selling an item now? how will we know if we are selling a fungi tunic to someone that is a legit player? You know how many traders there are that are level one! RMT (unless through an in game store) is against the rules in every MMORPG. I really find it hard to believe that anyone would think that this server was any different.

What OP probably means is he didn't think that people actually got banned for RMT.

Truth be told, I am one of the few who geniunely feels bad for new players who are not aware of the rules (be it through ignorance or whatever).

But, rules are rules. The very experience that players come to relive owes itself to the policies and procedures of the server and the maintainers who created them.

Why is everyone ragging on OP so hard, dude seems honest and legit and isn't flaming or blaming anyone else, just saying peace to some of his pals and wishing that other new players don't make the same mistake as he did.

As prevelant as RMT is in modern MMOs and as lax as policing it is I would think it would be a pretty easy to make the same mistake.

Take care OP, take it as a lesson to always read rules! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Pretty much this.. it may be against the "rules" in modern MMOs but nobody actually gives a shit.

I wish there was a way to permanently get rid of RMT in MMOs. Unfortunately I am unable to think of a way. Even with the strictest no drop rules, I imagine someone would find a way to cheat.

It is unfortunate that people feel they need to pay someone else to play the game for them they are here to play for entertainment. Why not bother and just don't play at all? It is called a "game" for a reason. If it is no longer fun and entertaining just walk away.

What can you do? Make every piece of gear is no drop, that will rot upon kill in a few minutes? I imagine you will see someone paying to be two boxed with "Platlord" camping an item for them while in his group. Or the "Platlord" scum of the world will start selling characters that have items on them.

The "Platlords" of the world don't care about your game. This revenue for them, a business. YOU who buy plat are hurting the game you want to be a part of.

Wait. Buying drugs from guys on the street is illegal?

The next thing you're going to say is paying a chick to sleep with you could put you in jail.

I don't feel bad for "new players" that get banned for RMT because they got banned. I feel bad for them because they shit all over their own EQ experience. I had a ton of fun starting off here for the first time, looting almost all my gear and scrounging for spells and looking for ways to make money. That was the EQ experience that I wanted to have again, and I can't believe that so many people are willing to give that up so they can "catch up"...to who? Is this a race?

Why Sandows? wasn't the gear I loaded you up with sufficient ? I suppose more fool me for sinking 1-2k on random new players to help them out.
