I don't understand why there are people nitpicking the rules of the new server or bashing the idea of starting on Green because this and that....We are about to get to play on a fresh, as close to classic Everquest server as there is, only thing you need to do is play or not play and then shut the hell up.

I would like to thank all the staff and anyone who has helped keep this project going, it has allowed me to relive some of the best gaming moments of my gaming life. I will be donating to try and help keep this project going since it is now growing and will be around for years to come, I hope.

Can anybody that has played from the beginning tell me how bad the playing experience is with 100s of players in the low level zones? I have been on P99 on and off for 5 years now, enjoy the nostalgic feelings and population of zones. Will there is "unplayability" trying to get out of the gate or will it be not so bad? I am envisioning zones like Unrest and Oasis being 50+ players at primetime, which sounds cool at first but nightmarish at the same time, perhaps it will require people to delve out of those zones into other zones to XP, there is plenty of places with decent ZEM and mob counts to play in the 10-30.

I'm excited to try something fresh seeing as I didn't start P99 until 1/2 way thru its lifespan. Looking forward to trying.

It's literally the most fun you can have on these servers short of being the first to compete for newly opened raid mobs

You'll probably want to be either ahead of, or behind, the curve. The first few weeks are going to be an absolute nightmare, fighting over every skeleton and orc, until people start to spread out. You can probably expect to be on a waiting list before every group you join for quite some time.

Still, it'll be a lot of fun. Just embrace the chaos.

I mean, it's kind of up in the air how many people will play green. I don't think we'll get as many as live had (3000) but it's probably going to be more than p99 had at inception (a couple hundred?) On live it was pretty common for people to sit and camp a single spawn for xp in dungeons, even in groups! I don't foresee people having that patience here. Maybe crowded newbie yards at launch weekend? After that just standard overcrowding at popular spots.

I think 3000 is a very realistic number. I think you underestimate how many have been waiting for this server. If not for WoW Classic, I'd say 3k would have been a minimum. Now I'm not sure. Guess we'll see [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Delay it by two months, wink wink nudge nudge.

There were not 3000 people per server at launch (or shortly after) in general. Not on most servers at least, from what I have read and my experience on Fenin Ro. I mean, not that many people were into that stuff yet. And more importantly, not everyone who would had up to date computers, or computers at all. And they kept adding servers as needed. I started watching a college roommate play about a month after launch. Then was playing 2 months later, after playing his paladin quite a bit.

I spent a lot of time not leaving Faydark early on, but went on adventures here and there. Playing during prime time, there were maybe 15-25 people working Crushbone. Greater Faydark had a good number of folks but it wasn't like EC or anything. I had Dagnor's Cauldron to myself mostly! Haha. The rest of the world didn't seem horribly overcrowded. And I popped on other servers just to check it out and I never saw some crazy over crowded thing. They made enough servers to keep things enjoyable.

Maybe that 3000 number is the total daily players? Or at the end of Velious or something. But I doubt that either. They didn't divulge numbers then and there was no /who all count. But 3000 was certainly nothing normal. And there are many many servers.

Character Names
You will not be able to create a character on Green with the same name as a character on Blue, unless you are on the same account that owns that character on Blue. We may also bring the server up early to allow character creations ahead of time. We will try to announce this as much in advance as we can.

Please do a name clean up before launch for people sitting on cool names on banned accounts or other accounts that haven't logged in for over 5 years and aren't level 10+ or something
