I stopped before i started due to no yellow/ooc/leaderboard. It was also pretty evident that the way this server was being made was in a "fuck you it's mine i'll do what i want with it" fashion, even while being fed a list of mistakes from the previous servers.

Server just felt empty even at the start with so many people, killing somebody means nothing unless you want to print screen and log on the forums. If i fart in a room with 800 people i want them all to hear it.

Everquest is shit so it needs something extra for me to have any sort of incentive to play it, working boats just didn't do it for me i'm afraid.

I stopped reading here. I appreciate everything the staff has done, I have donated to the server, but I just don't see the benefit in finger-pointing. The player base is blaming the devs/gms for not doing enough to sustain the population. Here, the staff blames the player base for not having realistic expectations. Who gives a fuck where the blame lies... where's the solution?

For the record, Sirken, nothing in your post applies to me. I have grinded to 40 and stopped because there's barely anybody left. I wanted the grind... I wanted people to have to work for their shit... but I wanted there to still be a server worth playing on once the grind was complete.

I hearby absolve the staff of all blame... you're right, it's completely 100% the fault of the players that this server has failed. Blame having been assessed, would you please do SOMETHING to save the server before prime time population hits zero?

What Sirken said in your quote is 100 percent truth and it is what I have been saying and warning about from the inception of this server.

On one hand you have people who love Everquest, the game. They love it even more with a dash of red to add some spice to the game world and immersion.

On the other hand you have the whole "comeatmebro" holo/fishbait/VZ/TZ cluster who could care less about Everquest except for the nature of the game allows for griefing others in a way that is just not possible in most other games.

Some came here to play EQ, some came here to grief.

I blame them for the current servers low pop, not Everquest.

The Sirken quote really bugs me. That may not be everquest but it also wasn't a barren desolate wasteland where everyone had to solo their way up to 50, resist where different, and there wasn't an extra form of experience lost. Why are all these things acceptable differences but we can't get with the times in any other fashion? It's blatantly pigheaded.
