Hill Giants

I'm guessing there is currently a high level rogue in the zone, I have never received that little off a giant in Rathe, Cyclops maybe.

And on a related note, are there as many HGs in RM as there used to be? I don't see very many, but maybe they're being taken down too fast.

I have heard conflicting stores. A few claim that the stuff that paths on the hill are all possible PHs for giants (ie: basilisks and lizards).
I've also heard that this is complete BS. Since I never stick around if there is more than 2 people already hunting them I have never bothered to clear the other mobs up there to see what happens.

one night i was alone up there and i was killing everything that moved and i had so many giants i couldnt keep them all dead before they repoped. The other day i ran through there and noticed only like 4 or 5 up and a shit ton of trash mobs up. this leads me to believe its true but its just my own limited observation and assumption.

also, if you not getting pp of them a rogue has been pick pocketing them. you'll get better pp next repops =)

Just to weigh in...

I usually get 10-37pp from HG's and if there aren't others camping them, there are TONS. Every time I have gone to kill HG's I have seen more than I ever remember on live.

Get a see-invis, kill a few and the re-spawns, if not defiled by a Rogue should drop what they are set to... otherwise.

I'd keep a see-invis up when doing them most all of the time. Wonder if that spell works on the HG's too, lol....

i am fairly certain, that there are 5 hillgiant spawns that are independent of the lower level trash. Have never seen more than 5 up at anyone time on track. There is also Broog who is on his own deal, and Tarskuk who can sometimes be a normal cyclops, but still static/not pathing.

5plat+change is the minimum I have seen drop off giants in RM, but 37 is the max as you say.

You might have just been unlucky or you got there after a pickpocketing rogue did.

Keep killing them...It adds up nicely over time.

Sorry if anyone misunderstood, i meant that they dont drop massive amounts of gold silver and copper along with the pp, i only get a few gold a few silver, a few copper, but i remember mass amounts of it on live

The wife and I have been duoing the giants in Rathe Mountians with a 38 Mage and a 38 Druid and getting 8-37p a pop. Have had three 5 hr runs on them so far and have made about 700-900p a session, each. So I'm not really complaining.

Im not complaining about how much platinum they drop. the platinum is fine, but on live during classic if a hill giant didn't have hardly any platinum or none at all, he would drop over 80 gold, and hundreds of silver and copper, on p99 the most gold ive seen on one that didn't drop much plat was 21 gold, it should be upwards of 50 easy
