I'm pretty sure that Vazaelle did not open until after Velious released.

Vazaelle was opened December 2000 and has history. I am very angry that I am losing the name of my server to a green server.

Listed on EQ.castersrealm server list in January 2001, but not on December 3, 2000.

Vazaelle not identified as a server on the official EQ server message board page as of December 4, 2000.

Well, I did it. I created a baby cleric on Vazaelle. Server is not a split server, only been up 2 weeks and already has 40+ people on it! But its kind of fun to be an untwinked newbie in a fresh economy. But then again, it is hard to do this again from scratch. Remember not being able to buy your spells? Remember the relief of getting summon drink because you can't afford to buy drink?

first uber DE necros. Xev was a split (from Povar) and the newest server,
Zerbo-something, was also a split.

The newest US server started from scratch is indeed Vazaelle.
But it's about 18 months old.

December 4, 2000 EQVault - Vazaelle is not listed under server status.
February 2, 2001 - Vazaelle is listed.

Vazaelle was opened right around same time Velious was, not sure which was first, but definitely wasn't before Kunark. I think OP's memory isn't as good as it was back in 2000.

Well admittedly perhaps I started on another server then moved to Vaz and I admit my memory is not always the best but the quest is real. I did it in classic time and during kunark times on live. That being said I also had a book back then that had this Sharkskin gloves quest in it along with a large variety of hidden quests. Some with notes of unfinished quests and such. Perhaps it was a developer notebook but I no longer have it. Thus why I asked about it here but no one else knows what I'm talking about.

In the end the player was able to get Sharkskin gloves and then the lesser sharkskin shield from Freeport. Basically similar quest but Erudin folk got a better reward.
