Is Square-Enix doing any better a job on the Steam ports for FF games?

I remember buying VIII on there and the graphic update was nice but the music was downgraded to MIDI and it didn't have essential features you get by emulating like saved states or turbo mode.

I grew up playing all mainstream final fantasy games back when they were originally released on their respective consoles. Don't get me wrong, FF 6/7/9/LOD/CT were all amazing games, FFX was just my shit. I remember getting X on release day back in 2001 when i was in middle school, it was a step up from the ps1 era JRPGs, the music, the visuals, the story, everything was pretty amazing.

To be fair, i actually just got my hands on 2 physical copies of Lunar and Lunar 2 ($500 USD) so gonna be playing those for the first time ever this weekend. Heard good things about those games but was never able to get a copy of it when i was younger.

FF9 and Chrono Trigger were my favorite. Although I havn't played them all. Got a playlist though for some nostalgia.

After FF7 things got a bit weird for me. I really liked FFT though. But best game of all time was Twisted Metal 2.

Black was the best in that series imo. Have they made any since then?
