I was a sega kid. I did the snes stuff at my friends. I got the both of best worlds!

I had that awful 32x dothinger too at some point. I remember playing doom and virtua racing and some motocross game. Ah, childhood..

I stayed with sega until the bitter end - dreamcast4lyf

I really enjoyed Landstalker, Shining Force 1 & 2, and Traysia to name a few RPG's from Sega.

Had lots of fun with Phantasy Star series as well.

Genesis hands down. Sure, there are some classic titles that were SNES only (Super Mario World, Zelda: A link to the past), but the Genesis was a popular system for far longer, and didn't have Nintendo's strict content controls, making it the system for mature gaming. Just compare Mortal Kombat on the Genesis to the anemic "no blood" SNES version.

Love Street Fighter a lot, still use the SNES configuration for it on my PS pad.

SNES = did Street Fighter 2 right, controller was well configured for it.
Genesis = fucked up, "press Start to switch from punch to kick" [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Genesis won a few battles, but it certainly lost the war. Original Mortal Combat (ABACABB) and Sonic were A+, but the resume of the SNES far outweighs Sega in 2016 – too many classics for SNES not to win by 100 miles.

I owned both and am an unapologetic Nintendo fanboy who still plays his 8-bit NES regularly, but I can't say that I really have any memories of a single SNES game. My only impression is just kind of "blah."

Genesis, on the other hand, was black and dangerous and my parents disapproved. It had Bill Walsh and Joe Montana and that dolphin game where I never could beat the second level.

I vote SEGA.
