Thats a whole nother point villert. I question whether dodge and blocks do work, as I have YET to see one in my combat log.

And yes, I feel like rerolling as well, monks are complete ass right now.

Monks used to could solo to 50, albeit very slowly. As it is now, I have trouble soloing a single blue mob. I can do it maybe 15-20% of the time, only if I get lucky and they miss a lot.
We should probably make another thread - but I feel the same way. I have trouble soloing a blue, and actually, embarrassingly enough - light blues at times. I got hit 17 straight times against a light blue last night, and probably 7 or 8 hits were for the mobs max damage. Ahh, we poor broken monks :-(

IDK Danth, my block and dodge level, but I have yet to see a SINGLE message for either of them, and I'm not filtering any combat messages.

I'm about to just perma ignore my weight limit, since it doesnt matter AT ALL - I cannot solo anyways

Don;t get me wrong Girth, I'm not saying that Dodge works for monks, only that it works for Paladins. That's important because it can hopefully narrow down a culprit.

I've talked to other monks that say they see one or the other every 2-3 fights. Maybe its just that it needs to scale better when it levels up. Should see multiple dodge or blocks messages each fight, unless Riposte is magically gonna add like 30% avoidance.

Link to a 2000 archived page from monkly business regarding mend corroborating the reports above: http://web.archive.org/web/200012100...ills/mend.html

The guy who wrote the post didn't write things in terms of skill level but rather character level, but since you get (level +1) * 5 in skill, and he says that you quit getting both failures and critical failures at around 19-20 (19 cap being 100, something you might not hit during your time in 19 if you level fast)...

Hate to bump but seriously, I'm not playing and just waiting until they fix either melee incoming damage or Mend. Can we at least get some form of: this cannot be fixed or this is being looked at?

This is extremely class breaking for monks.

I don't use mend in combat anymore as it can lead to bad bad things. Granted I'm only 12, but It really fails to much or I get NO message at all from it.

Not much point in using it even when you're higher. Certainly can't depend on it, even at 25+.

Bump - we haven't had a single comment from a GM about this class breaking issue on either forum, and I did have this issue posted on the old forums - are there any plans to make Mend stop failing once Mastered?

Unhappy

I've been following this server and have yet to roll a character on it, but I played a monk on PEQ server and there were severe problems with the monk skills as well. I think they've been fixed. Check out the Monk forum:

and my old thread there
