PSA: Time to play the BOX

here's how I see it: either this box works and we quit complaining or quasi-trolling about how much it sucks (when in reality it has 90% of what people were crying for when we were playing on VZTZ), or we don't see another eq pvp server


because there isn't going to be another one. If LoZ was going to take off, it would have done so by now. Instead it's semi-active with a double digit population lower than this box.

We need one red server. I've never really cared which server that was, but this is the one being run by the head of the eqemu project so it goes without saying that it has a natural advantage there (getting top billing in the server select list, having the superior P1999 blue codebase, etc) whether it deserves it or not.

I like the way Devnoob operates better. He's active. He communicates. He seems to be a pvp kind of guy. But it's like voting third-party in a presidential election: it's not actually going to matter. LoZ has its own slew of issues besides that. Ideally, Devnoob would just be working on this server and find a way to merge the shit people like about LoZ over here.

Nearly every version of vztz and loz have been more on the ball when it comes to managing the server than red99. The only people who care to work on the box are held hostage to Rogean's completely lack of care when it comes to updating / working on bugs.

Resist system - still worse than vztz, live, loz, last updated 3+? months ago? Rather than anything resembling live eq we're still stuck with the HURRR ROOT/SNARE until it sticks and then zerg down strategy.

Bugs - i haven't paid much attention, but i'm going to go out on a limb and say even simple things like bond of death don't have an icon yet in pvp. Going on a year for this, something voidd / devnoob fixed in a day.

Yellow text - all polls in favor for the last 6+ months? Could have been in at kunark release if any management cared, but they don't.

Ignoring the playerbase when it comes to experience issues, putting in a hilariously bad experience bonus back when it might have mattered in retaining the population (the original 1-50 inverse xp bonus) as well as putting in a temporary one for kunark's release that serves only to highlight what an awful grind it will be for any new player to get in the game.

and so on.

But do go on with the rarara server cheer leading, it is only the 3rd or 4th time you've attempted to do this exact same thing. Unfortunately the core issues that sabotage this server's success are still unfixed and the results will be the same. Good luck! (expects a ban for this post)

I get why a lot of the Holo are jaded since they never should have eaten that guild ban + all the bs with Amelinda, but if Rexx is playing again they should be rolling w/ him.

The YT thing I get as frustrated as you about because of all the pointless pussyfooting and "internal discussion" about a feature that seems obvious to include, but it's also not a huge deal to me personally. I can screenshot my kills and I don't need pointers on where to find pvp in kunark since there's only like 3 zones people ever go to anyway.

If PvP broadcasts are the biggest issue of the box then there really aren't that many issues with it at this point. They put in global OOC, tweaked the resists, added guard assist, and boosted the exp. It took forever for all that stuff to go in, but it's in.

I don't get all the crying about YT. There's global OOC, and everyone spams "xxx down and coined in xxx" whenever they kill someone. Who cares what color it is? Why is that such a big deal?
