Can warriors server as a dps member of a group?

I was in a group once when I was in my 40's where the warrior stayed at 30% HP to increase his DPS, it was pretty amazing how much DPS the warrior could do. If you don't taunt and don't have any offensive proc weps (ykesha, snare, stun, etc) you won't take aggro from a monk using an Addy club. Its dangerous for the war but I have noticed it increases their DPS quite significantly.

I believe warriors can DPS. But the only place where it's generally accepted is on raids when you have extra warriors that are not tanking.

My only comment is on Ephirith's graph is the Rogue vs Chanter Charm pet.

I did a lot of King camp (as a rogue) with a chanter and his pet.
The pet would out DPS me if I did not spend 100% of my time behind the mob (aggro ping pong, for example).
But if I stayed behind the mob I would pull aggro.
However, I was Discing on every pull. Since we only pulled once every 30 minutes.

Bard's DPS isn't quite a terrible as most people believe in ideal, yet certainly attainable, circumstances. The trouble is the mob has to be unmoving, not resistant to several saves, and then the most likely reason; people in a group would let that happen since the other stuff like regen resists etc would be instantly missed.

I'm not saying it'd be anything to write home about, but they can beat out knights at the least in those circumstances. The gap gets much wider in Velious, though. Instrument modifiers don't increase very much for the same DPS songs that don't get upgraded relatively compared to the increases melee DPS gets in that expansion is just huge. I didn't agree with what that Thott dude said about a lot of stuff, but the article he wrote about this was actually pretty factual and legitimate.

And a SK does thousands of DPS for the tenth of a second that he spends using his HT once every 72 minutes. But is that relevant when discussing a chart about sustained DPS in relatively practical situations? Of course not.

I'm confused by your post anyways. "The pet does more DPS than me unless I'm behind the mob all the time, except I am never behind the mob all of the time." Oh yeah? Well my wizard does almost 200 DPS when he has unlimited mana and no aggro!

Warrior and ranger DPS is not matching in any way shape or form in a raid setting MAYBE a group due to relatively low HP mobs. Warriors critical mechanic will out dps a ranger, mind you the warrior must have the gear and weapons to do so. It was mentioned about the Berserker frenzy status warriors achieve from 35%. and hold till they hit 40%+ hp which they go back to reg status. On raids it is easy to keep a war berserk with a duel and set the wars hp accordingly, it can be dangerous, but the damage put out with crippling blows along with the added stun is undeniable. Most people have trouble wrapping their bluebie brain around the possibilities warriors can achieve over any other class while berserk. Its very easy for a berserk warrior to cripple for 400+ with a wurmy, factor in gear and buffs and haste, its ownage.

Magician and Necromancer are substantially better DPS than Warrior for 90% of the game. Warriors might start to catch up with itemization in Velious.

my level 41 warrior was the lowest character at a Chardok raid the other night. i parsed the logs afterwards, and he was in the middle of the DPS rankings.
