This.

If you want a class that easily solos to 60, provides the most utility to raids and pick up groups... Play a Shaman. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
the only "pure caster" that holds there own in vel, in terms of solo/big named/big mother fuking plays", shaman are gods in Vel arguably > all.

So was there any real benefit to picking Necromancer over Enchanter or Shaman? Boh of those classes are arguably as good at soloing right?

dependent on playstyle, torpor malo, is game breaking when doing big named solo's

experienced bards necros enchanters have done some interesting things

but shaman are kings of solo single target big hp named hitters anything end game

vel is end game for this server

Necro should at least be 'easier' than Enchanter.

Good necromancers are always needed, bad necros... not so much.

If you play a necromancer as a Ninja, you'll always have a spot in a raiding guild.

If you play a necromancer as a soloing necro #203440201, not so much.

As far as rerolling just so you can cast spells on a dragonpixel instead of a pcpixel... that's just what a crappy player would do.

Learn to be a ninjanecro, embrace the shadowydarkness or you can just reroll to a cleric and press 2

From what I have heard enchanters will get the shaft in velious even harder and more vigorously than necromancers. Magicians and Wizards won't be that happy either. Shaman will be great, but remember they also get to take tells for 'melee buffs plz' on raids [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The real problem is that Verant just sucked at balancing their games. In classic melee are hugely underpowered relative to casters. In Kunark melee almost catch up (or in our server with the huge lag of Velious, do catch up because so many L60s have their epic and tons of VP/Sky gear and Trakanon BPs etc). In Velious melee finally pass casters.

I'm interested to see how enchanters pan out in Velious here.

Enchanters wreck Kael via Direwolf Pets. Hit for 230s or so and don't summon. Plus, unlike giants, you can stun/mez them for recharm. Frost Giant Keep do less damage, but will break charm less. The kicker being that they are harder to recharm.

You can charm shit for Dain in Icewell, but not the dwarves. Stuff like the cubes in the banish area are fine.

Skyshrine and ToV have decent pets, but they're really fuckin' far away from where you're probably gonna be killing shit so unless you are clearing to shit (which for skyshrine is a giant 'fuck no'). ToV depends on whether TMO decides to pull dargons to Aary or fight them at spawn since hatchlings are near.

ST: Lol

Velks, Sontalak, Klandicar, Zlandicar, Neb, Vaniki all have decent pets available.

WToV and EToV, you're straight up fucked.

Enchanters are obviously useful for PoG.

Plus there's the whole deal with different mob factions in the same zone, which can make for some hilariously broken ways to kill raid mobs with an enchanter/bard and a couple FD'rs.
