If your corpse isn't where you think you died, it's likely at the zone's succor/evac point, those locations can be found here:

If you have trouble finding those, finding a bard/necro/sk to point you in the right direction is also an option. But when I do a mass saferes it moves your corpse to a 'safe' location (so you don't get res'd next to mobs and die), and that location is listed in the link above for each zone.
