But that aside I see one guy civilly making a valid point and asking a valid question and another guy going apeshit and ordering his minions to strip his mic before melting down to all-out personal attacks... or am I missing something here?

I said very clearly: I don't credit any president (or Congress) for any economy, good or bad. If you truly believe the president (or Congress) has some magic dial they can turn to make the economy better or worse, you seriously need to take an economics class or three. But regardless of reality, there is a perception that the President is to blame for the economy, and that perception has historically had a big effect on politics. There's been a trend that you can follow going back many decades: a good economy = good results for the party in power ... ... up until this election that is.

He wasn't actually on any of the ballots, so if Trump says he won, i cant prove him wrong.

And before anyone starts arguing, of course both the president and congress have levers they can pull to affect the economy. The president can, as Trump has, start a trade war. Congress can pass laws that hurt or help businesses, although normally they only hurt/help specific industries that they were paid to hurt/help.
But again, when you actually understand how economies work, both of those "levers" have a relatively small and slow impact. People blame politicians for the current state of the economy, when they really should be blaming politicians from several years ago. And really they shouldn't be blaming politicians at all: they should be blaming the many, many, much bigger factors that impact the economy.
