Alright, spell it out for me.

When the server comes back online, will we be set up with ddos armor?

Devs have kept this quiet, for good reason im sure. giving out to much info on what they have set up to stop the asshat form ddos-ing again would only help him/her/it do it again.

I suppose that makes sense.

But if the big secret is whether or not we have ddos armor at all, it wont take long for him to figure that much out.

If it's about what KIND they'd be getting, I'm not asking for that kind of specificity.

Apologies for sounding stupid, but one of the things I'm least well versed on is ddos attacks. I don't even know how a ddos attack works, or what exactly it does.

I can understand Rogean and the Project 1999 crew's stance on this issue. Obviously, they didn't foresee the DDoS attack coming, and while the vast majority of us are devoted to the project, the community is growing at a rapid rate...Which means there's a lot of new players. DDoS attacks can be used as scare tactics to keep these newer players away from the game, which I'm sure none of us want.

That being said, I think that 25% xp bonus for a week is fair. They initially wanted to give us 50% out of the goodness of their hearts, as a sort of thank you for sticking by them during this whole ordeal. Of course, we would have done so anyway! But the fact that half the community said yes, and half the community said no, meeting in the middle isn't really all that bad. In a perfect world, I'd say 25% xp bonus for a weekend might be a better solution, but all the same, I'll leave the decisions up to the team!

Thanks Rogean and the Project 1999 team for your hard work and continued dedication to the progress of this server that we've all come to love!

Rails were delivered ~ 9:45 AM, still nothing from data center.

I'll call them at 3 if I haven't heard anything yet.
