^ I care. Blatantly offensive and/or disgusting names detract from my gaming experience and I will say so. You will not stop me from doing so.

I definitely agree that bad names should be changed or altered to maybe one from some random list of generated fantasy names. I am sad but I fear my name may fall under the bad side of the strict rules of naming ones character.

On live when I started my character was a Dark Elf Shadowknight named Darkvex. Took me about a month or a little more to get to level 20. I was so excited because I became Darkvex Dreadknight the level 20 SK.

I love my name and it has served me well in the years of RP and playing games, however, if it does violate and I have to take one for the team to get rid of these terrible... they arent even names really, then I will and I'll be the first to have a new name.

^ why would that name violate the rules? Seems fine to me, unless "Darkvex" is a well-known fantasy character that I'm unaware of.

Dark and Vex, combo of 2 words. Everyone always called me DV when raiding.

My rogue in WoW is named Protoncannon [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] but thats wow, it just invites retarded names

Eh, hopefully that's what gets sorted out when the naming policy is formally established. I would think that a very small percentage of players would object to something like "Darkvex". Conversely, I would hope that a very high percentage would find "Buttnugget" or "Hivpositive" unacceptable.

I'm confident that common-sense discretion will win by the time all is said and done.

Exactly! This is again why I am confused as to why Fearstalker, Wikicat, and now Pyrocat is on there?

Maybe it's just me but I think after he got offended by Pyrocat, the OP put Pyro on his list, along with all his characters listed on his sig. Pyrocat was a ranger in live whom I played with for many years and he even participated in MANY GM events, interacted with MANY GMs, and not once did they even care about his name.

Again, people look at the classic name list... these names were not all that uncommon. Just saying.... there is a difference between Lezbos(I've see this one around) and Fearstalker (Sorry for using your name but I do not find this offensive or not fantasy-like in anyway).

Hey! no problem! I was actually surprised to see my name listed in the first case. It's not offensive or non-fantasy at all. I didn't want something which I couldn't relate to in some way. I had a Wizard on live named Synge Drakesphyre. That was a name which fit and was better than the generated weird names for Erudites!

I'll have to start using this notoriety in-game some how..

/shout 24 Enchanter LFG! (As seen on the message boards! Tell your friends you grouped with Fearstalker!)
