I PL'd a bunch before the max hit when sitting patch. Made around 120k, never got stiffed.

Also ported my ass off for a while back when DaP was sorta newish.

Now a days I make plat by leveling my various alts and hoarding/selling everything.

before monk sneak nerf, I duoed fungi camp regularly with my pal. at the time I was a casual monk who desperately wanted to upgrade and buy 2 sky fists, which I eventually did, from fist/som . was fun solo pulling king to tube through all mobs in brain/jail/exit. groups of course eventually got mad at me and regularly petitioned me; not because I was breaking the rules, but because they were mad I could out-mobilize and claim camp solo, if I had to. I didn't respect groups who claim "king" when they haven't killed a PH and are still at entrance mobilizing. gave me a "bad" reputation. didn't need good gear either, I was able to duo at level 59 with non-dragon gear. it was a skill pull more-so than gear dependent.

we made a lot of money, a lot..and single handedly destroyed the fungi price because we'd net an average of 2-5 fungis per farm session. best drop rate we've gotten was 6 fungis in 5 hours. I think at the peak, I was able to drop the price from 50k down to 38k because I flooded the market with them. resellers would send me hate tells because it would ruin a key source of their income. it was the best camp because you fight 1 mob per 25 minutes, afk and work on the other screen, rinse and repeat.

point is OP, don't set the bar low if you have Walmart gear, thinking you can't do big camps. I was able to do it and learned a lot through trial and error. find a shaman friend and challenge yourselves. you will eventually learn that several money camps are possible when a majority of the population would write it off without a single attempt.

I remember those days.

I wondered why you stopped hitting EC with non-stop fungis, now I see it's due to the nerf to monk sneak I guess is what you are saying.

Really fungis never recovered they still hover at 40-44k which is still much cheaper than they were before you sold so many fungis at 38-40k.

As for finding a lucrative niche like you did, without gears I don't know.

I don't think anymore plat camps like your fungi camp are out there tbh, and if they are actual geared players who been on the server for years live on the camps never granting a noob-ungeared player a chance to even begin to learn such a camp.

Seems most players stick with what everyone knows; there are plenty of "secret fishing holes" out there.
