Default Read the Directions

Look, no one knows for sure if 2 boxing was going on, besides the people operating the computers in that house. The GMs probably have the best knowledge outside of that, and if they believe two-boxing was occurring, that is the final word.

Several posts here indicated that others did not know there was a "no 2 accounts from the same IP rule". How is that possible? It is stated clearly in a lot of different posts, most notably the Library/FAQ. There is even an exception process that supports multiple players from the same IP.

Even with the exception process, if two accounts are doing something suspicious that makes the GMs believe one person is operating both accounts at the same time, expect a hammer.

This whole thing is not rocket science, just a bit of reading, common sense and the ability to follow fully disclosed rules.

At least Uthgaard would give you a test. Just coming in and banning?

That's pretty lame.

I never tried connecting two accounts from same IP, and I didn't read the Library/FAQ thoroughly first. So sue me. I'm just like the vast majority of people who don't read through everything first. I found out about the server, went and installed the client, and started playing right away I was so excited. This is what I've been waiting for for years.

I would have known it was impossible to do had my sister tried playing.

It's good that two-boxing is not allowed, and it's good that they allow IP exemptions. That's what matters.

So, those who are being banned for two-boxing are those who have been granted IP exemptions. That I did not know. I really did think you could just log on multiple times from the same IP. It's good to know that you can't do that without an exemption.

Clearly this server has put quite a bit of stress on you. Calling his post a temper tantrum? Where was he swearing? Where was he calling GMs names and telling them that they're dumb or any other explicative? He didn't.

I sure hope you don't have kids man because I get the feeling they'd be face down in the pool after telling you dinner wasn't the best it's ever been. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
sort of cute how with (C) he states "goodluck getting unbanned now" I guess he himself realizes that this guy getting banned may have gone unwarranted

Logging out to go afk is not necessary, no staff here will ban a suspected two box simply because one of them isn't moving. We do, however, have several other methods and information available to us, some of which can lead us to a two box conclusion with or without the character(s) being afk.
Me and Dirtnap (My brother) have been playing here since the start of the server. Never once have even been asked if we were boxing. We've sat with characters leeching off each other to sitting afk in EC while the other one is soloing.

They make sure before they say someone is boxing. It isn't an instant process.

Don't you slander Amelinda's good name loopholbrook. She doesn't "jump the guns with bans". first being she can't just ban someone w/o rogean and second being she's 1 of the nicest people on the server who always gives players the benefit of the doubt.
Long live the Leezard Queen
Hey bro. I just said that's what I heard bro. Like I said, I don't know from experience bro. Come on bro, you're the one jumping the gun now bro.

The fact that hes wining about his ban in public forums to gather sympathy for himself rather than posting what he knows is the correct and proper method to appealing a ban in the petition forum. That is a public cry for "You're going to ban me so I'm going to make you regret it by letting everyone see what you're doing!!!11!!11oneone!!", most people do this without realizing it usually comes back to bite them in the ass.

This person was boxing, and I do not need to 'test' someone nor inform them prior to banning when we already have enough evidence. This particular situation is not always the case nor has it been accessible until recently, and in other cases it may be necessary to test the players.
