Game Mechanics: Piercing for warriors

Currently lvl 57 on my warrior and since level 56 my piercing skill has been stuck at 228. My warriors max's his skills very quickly into level and I got concerned my skill wasnt going up. Paid 1k or so to train piercing at the trainer, he took my platinum and my skills went up to 235 but there was this weird red text error message. Later that night I went into Howling stones and all of a sudden my 1k platinum reappeared on my character and my piercing skill went back to 228 ?? lmao yeah its hard stuck at 228 something weird going on with it.
