Default Training Points

Not sure if it's a classic mishap or w/e but heres the issue:

When you're above what a trainer can train you(I.E. 68pts in Make Poison but the trainer says they can't possibly train you anymore) you will still LOSE a skillpoint you had cached in the attempt.

One issue related to this as well is when you try to put a point on meditate and it will give you the skill lvl but after you zone it goes back to zero and you lose the point.

I heard that this was due to it letting certain people/classes train meditate before they were the level normally allowed to use it. Never tested it or anything, just overheard some people chatting about it. Might be something to look into.

This is a client/DB/Source interaction issue that I don't think can be resolved. The client is programmed to think "at Y Level you can have X skill points in Z Skill", however the DB and Source say something different. So, when you spend those points through the client, the source resets you down to DB values on zone, for instance.

Couldn't you refund the difference in points when you zone? For instance, if player has 5 points in meditate and they're allowed 0, reset to zero and refund 5 training points? I have to the number of training points a player has is tracked/governed on the DB end.

Perhaps there's not an event generated for that such that you can set a custom algorithm, thus my inquisition.

Probably not worth the effort to fix though, training points I'm sure are the least of your concerns.

The server shouldn't actually reduce the points serverside if it didn't bring the skill up. If you didn't get the points back after zoning, its a bug that should be looked into. Maybe Haynar can check it out. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also did this with a char that had 5 training points (lvl1)
trained meditate to 1 - 4 points left
After Relog, meditate was off cause 0, but still only 4 training points [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I noticed this when I was training meditate prior to my level, but it would appear that I got them back.
