The fix posted above works on my system. Make sure you rename eqgame-v3.1.dll to eqgame.dll when you place it into your Everquest directory.
Anyone else that the above fix does not work for I would suggest posting your operating system and processor: Windows XP SP 2 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+ 2.08 GHz | ||

Thanks a ton for putting in the work to correct this man. So relieved to get eq up and runnin again. Had the same problems as these other fellas but this last fix got it workin. just so you know im running a pretty old gaming setup, Amd Athlon pro with ati geforce 5600 128mb oh and im runnin win xp. thanks again!!

woot, this latest fix definitely worked Rogean. i'd like to thank you personally for helping fix this issue and i'd liek to thank all the computer savvy players for helping troubleshoot. very relieved i can play again, you guys are awesome!

Well i tried the Fix and it didn't work. I am getting this message when trying to start EQ.
The procedure entry point DecodePointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. Windows XP Service Pack 1 is on my System. | ||

getting Wsock32.ddl and eqgame.dll fail to copy and DL-1 error at character select.
