The error is a result of the patch UI files overwriting what you previously had.

I had the same issue, although since this has happened to me in the past, this time I made a copy of my default ui folder/contents and saved it off to the side. When I installed the patch and encountered the errors you are both reporting, all I had to do was delete the active default UI folder/content and copy over the one I had saved.

My default UI works. PM me your email addresses and I will send it over

Well this is a fine pickle. Even with someone else's old UI files I am having the same issues. I called my brother, he brought his discs over, gonna do a clean install.

Here is what I think happened:

I installed DuxaUI and made mods to it via posts in the forums. I think those mods and the Duxa files got overwrote with the new update. Being as I'm a fool who did NOT back-up his own specific UI folder, there is no way to save myself.

Solution:

A) Make Back-ups before you patch anything to be sure you can "un-roll" your mistakes. This is the optimal solution.

B) Do a clean install. Reset all your defaults, and then re-install DuxaUI and VertUI or whatever else you were using.... (Stupid fool solution).

Draconov if yer readin' this, I suggest solution B if you were as dumb as me and didn't back up your files.

Being as this thread seems to be a somewhat common issue. I'd still love for feedback on how to fix this other than the two methods mentioned above.

TL;DR I'm rolling back and starting over from vanilla install...

Thanks for the help guys. I haven't gotten the old ui files yet, but when I do, I will post my process. I'm really trying to avoid option B. This is my first patch update (only have been playing since April), so now I know to copy all my files before overwriting anything in the future.

EDIT

Ok so I dowloaded India's files and pasted them in, then dropped the updated patches in it overwrote whatever was in the ui default folder. Logged in and it did not work. I downloaded phacemeltars files and copied them into the default folder containing india's old files along with the new patch and it overwrote whatever was in that default folder. Got my characters to load! Only problem I am having now is black skies. It was a weird combo, but it worked out. Got lucky.
