The UI on green is forced in the name of classicness.

This. Plus titanium client doesn't support that old stone viewport ui. Staff wish they had figured it out. Maybe for green 2. Stay tuned.

I don't think any emu will ever really be that classic unless they can figure out how to use the trilogy client

What does classic even mean? I think the consensus here is it's impossible to totally recreate the classic experience OR the classic mechanics, let alone both. It's all lost in time.

The staff here have gotten fucking close, and keep getting closer. And it's plenty close enough to greatly entertain thousands, obviously. And with staying power, obviously.

I was referring to the use of the viewport ui. No need to get all fired up for the taste of boots

We had era screenshots showing that actually the Velious UI didn’t had completely transparent windows. It actually leveraged a lot of the original stone assets. We also had access to a trilogy client that someone on the team could use to verify using the client used during Velious.

It wasn’t really a hybrid, it is as accurate to the original trilogy velious UI we could get.
