I would always use dropping copper when fighting hiders in pvp servers. they would hide and i would lose them as my target. so i would run around dropping coin untill it went to the trade window with them, which targets them. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Man, I'm glad they got rid of coin drop. I used to hunt down people on PvP servers but they would just run around dropping coin until a trade window opened. Totally screwed my strat!

It was changed in the client, so it can't be fixed here. Didn't know it crashed zones, I thought it was changed so that people would stop losing plat when trying to give it to people, because apparently some people had bad aim and would just drop their money.

IIRC there were a good number of exploits usable with dropping coin anyways, so it's probably a good thing that it's not in.

Not sure how it works now, but every so many seconds the game saved your character. You could drop pp in a secluded place, /q out, and return and you'd still have the pp and you could pick up the dropped pp.

The best use of dropping pp was to use minor illusion, then pick it back up. Doing this in front of the NFP bank (on my server NFP trade zone) was always hilarious.

There are certain things that trigger a manual character save on live, like trades and etc. There is also a manual save when a client is destroyed (~Client destructor). So if there wasn't a manual save after dropping the coin, it would take crashing the zone in order to avoid the destructor save, which would result in any dropped coins disappearing anyways.
