Why are higher levels so toxic?

I suck at this game and recently came back from not playing for a while. I decided to make a barbarian warrior and enjoy myself. What a mistake.

"Why are there level 30 mobs so close to the noob area?"

Level 54 character: "Back to wow with you. the starting area is to keep 12 year olds like yourself out of the game."

Because the concept of a safe space noob area is a retarded and contributed to the downfall of MMO's. And you got a snarky reply because we despise crap like that.

Norrath is a dangerous world and that's what makes it fun. You actually have to pay attention if you want to survive. And a painting is dull without contrast.
