Downloading Spell Files
Hi folks, I hope to be adventuring old -school with all of you soon!
I do have a problem however. I can not run the EQEmulator automatic file patcher noted in 'Getting Started' because I'm running EQ on Ubuntu Linux. I can run the game perfectly and already have a toon on The Grand Creation [legit_god] server that functions fine. I'm hoping there's another way to update my spell files as requested in character creation screen, such as using a download file I may paste into my EQ main folder to use the spell files required by P1999. Can someone help? Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much, I'll try them as soon as I'm home and let you know how it goes.

I would suggest having seperate EQ installs for EACH EMU you are playing one, just drag/drop a default Titanium install to a new folder and edit for P99/TGC/whatever-server.

Now it says I'm missing client files, giving the error code DLL-1
I copied and pasted the files into my eq main folder as requested, the V27 package. It seems the spell files have correctly been modified but I'm not sure what else is needed. Anyone with experience on running this on 12.04 Ubuntu who has some advice? Great tip about having two EQ folders for different servers BTW, don't know why I didn't think of that myself [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

ISSUE RESOLVED
For any other Linux folks, I hope your forum search leads you to this thread! Step 1 - Download the most recent patch files as normal and extract them into your main Everquest folder (Program Files/Sony/Everquest). Step 2 - Access the main folder and remove the file called "DSETUP.dll." The patch files use their own .dll called "dsetup.dll" (note the lowercase) but Wine will access the original one first. Once removed, just remember to set 'VertexShaders' to 'FALSE' in the eqclient.ini and you're ready to adventure Norrath!
