Default Shaman Epic turn-in

My question is for Shamans who do the epic MQ. When you turn in your scale to get your epic, does it reset your faction all the way to the beginning or just lower it a bit?

How much factioning needs to be done to get back to max ally?

it resets to zero but this means nothing unless you didn't get sow boots or want to MQ another epic.

I always thought it was sad when I did the epic on live...you spend ages getting a "spirit" faction up which goes really well with the lore of a shaman.

Then BANG, the spirit gives you the epic and doesn't like you anymore [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

...never quite went to the lengths of remaxing it for the sake of it as its hassle, but sad they don't leave it maxed.
