![]() I am going to be creating a Troll/Ogre Shaman tonight and I have a good amount of money to spend on gear/items.
I have about 50k that I am going to spend on his gear. Any suggestions on the type of gear that would be most beneficial for leveling solo and in groups when I am bored? I know a nice weapon will be good to have, any suggestions? Do I want HP/AC gear mainly or Wis gear? Is Jaundice where it's at or is something else more ideal for leveling up? Keep in mind that I am starting from very low levels. Thanks in advance!

![]() Best twinking you can make for a baby shaman is making it an ogre.

![]() Fungi Tunic is best item you can get for shaman twink, but out of the price range you identified.
weapon get a Poison Wind Censer for use until 50 if you want to melee that long 5/55 rings, black sapphire earrings or earring of essence, dusty rusted vambraces, etc. FBSS won't hurt if you are going to tank and melee a lot.

![]() I agree with Ele. Poison Wind Censer is a very nice weapon for leveling and quite cheap. Combine with FBSS and stack AC/HP gear along with a reasonable amount of WIS and you should have a pretty easy time of it melee soloing to 29 or 34 when more options open up spell-wise.

![]() Ikky Breastplate would not hurt with 5 regen. Keep in mind soloing on a Shaman before level 24, and even 34 before you get your dog is not a whole lot of fun. Kill a mob med pretty long time, kill one mob med a long time etc.
But I never had a Ikky or fungi on one at low levels. Ele is right about the Poison Wind Censer but won't do much good until level 20 when the damage cap sort of comes off. But it is a fast weapon for a 2hander. And like you said you want HP/AC gear mainly. Make sure you have 75 points in Agility on a Ogre if you make one on start stats.

![]() You should also buy a Goblin Parrying Spear. it's 6/19 with a few wis and ac, but is really good for pre-20 when you have the damage cap. Also good to keep around to quicky train up piercing for when you get epic. Costs around 150-250pp.
As far as Jaundice goes, it is nice for the AC but can be a bit of a hinderance early because it lacks stats. I would recommend getting JB Boots and gloves and either Totemic (2k) or JB (500p) Helm. Dusty Rusted Vambs for the win!

![]() Another idea is that you could use that cash to get some PL's. With that kind of cash you can probably get to a decent level (close to or at the lvl of having your pet). Depending on how high you wanted to get power-leveled, you'd likely have a good chunk of that money left to get some gear and you could save some money by not buying all of your lower-level spells that are redundant.
Again, just an idea. | ||

![]() Optionally, keep the money as the beginning of your high-level spell fund. For most folks the toughest part of playing a Shaman to 60 is finding the money to buy the expensive spells with.

![]() I found a Poison Wind Censor yesterday for sale and picked it up, but I also found a Granite Face Grinder for sale which is super nice.
Would you recommend the Censor over the Grinder for leveling? I did pick up the Ikky BP and some other Jaundice stuff. Thanks for all the help.

![]() I like the censor at lower levels because it is faster. But past say level 40 the Grinder is a better bet damage wise for sure. And at level 39 you get a better slow to stand toe to toe longer.
