![]() I'm Jingleson, new player to Project 1999. Haven't played Everquest in forever, and when I heard about this server I was seriously excited, and so here I am, playing my first Bard and trying to tooth out a living on bone chips and cloth armor in Freeport. I don't really have a plan at this point other than having read the newbie guide, but I'll probably be going to Greater Faydark from 5-7 and Crushbone from 7-12, after that who knows. I'm just trying to cut my teeth and get a feel for the class right now and scrounge whatever coin and equipment I can. I'll probably give the Bard page on the wiki a read.
Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself and say that it's already a lot of fun, the excitement of grinding for bone chips, cloth armor, and rusty weapons. Hope to see some of you guys in-game soon, and hopefully I'll have a successful career on this Bard. ~Jingleson, Lv2 Bard

![]() Welcome to P1999, it's a great server and it is a very friendly environment for the most part.
A piece of advice, I wouldn't venture to G-Fay right away. I would suggest staying in East Commons killing bears/lions/wolfs until you can get into the Dervish camps. The HQ pelts always sell well and you can normally get free buffs from high level players in EC. Plus most of the time you group at the Derv camps high level Characters will stop by and buff the group or even give out a few nice keep sakes for free. That's just my two cents. Good Luck!

![]() I'd like to offer the following starting advice, and hope that it's helpful to ya.
When the server is back up, hunt down a mage to make you some summoned 6 or 10 slot backpacks. You'll want 5-6 of them. If you make a level 1 alt and ground twink the empty bags to it at the end of a play session, you can then punch out a guard and make a corpse which will store the No Rent bags until your next play session. You can pick up some good cash from this as you're constantly looting *everything*. Moving on, the Felwithe to Kelethin bard mail quest isn't quite classic in that it grants more gold than it should - about 3 to 11 gp per run. Do it a few times to get your bags, save about 2pp left over, and run to Kaladim and buy small tattered armor off of the vendors. They're always stocked due to people turning in CB Belts and Bone Chips. Level from 1 to 5 in front of Kaladim. Save bone chips, and turn them in at level 5 to Gunlok Jure in the Paladin's guild. You should make level 7-8 off of them. The Orcs in GFay drop belts. Blow them up, either solo or in groups until level 9 or even 10 (you can reach 10 off of the ones guarding the entrance to CB). At this stage, head into Lesser Fay to the Orc camp marked #11 on the Atlas map http://www.eqtitan.com/eqatlas/lesserfaydarkmap.html There are 6 centurion spawns here, all of them are about +1 level to the ones that spawn back in Gfay near CB entrance, and they drop belts too. If you run directly from GFay entrance to the camp in a straight line, you will only encounter two Level 8 skeletons (each solo). You will NOT get run over by Shadowed Men or Brownie Scouts. It's safe. You'll figure out what to do at 12, but by doing the above you can reach level 12 while getting that cool CB belt cash at the same time. No one ever camps the Lfay orcs.

![]() I'll be sure to ask for help if I hit any sort of roadblock. At the moment my goal is simply to hit level 5, save all my bone chips for Kaladim as recommended, and afford a suit of Leather Armor from North Freeport.
