![]() Which one should I go with? I want a port class. Are there better or worse ports come Velious, or exclusive ones? I like characters that look cool, so I'm out of luck there. I want to quad. I already have a character who is 51, so this is just an alt. please let me know your reasoning. Thanks!

![]() Id say depends on what youd like to be doing in a group:
I didnt think id enjoy being a drood but the long duration snare and buffage is pretty awesome and of course the ports can make you money. As a druid i find it easier than my dps toons (mag, rog) to get groups. Wizards are a straight dps class, and at that one without a pet or much of a secondary purpose besides lump sum dps. Before playing here I enjoyed playing a lot of dps classes, but being a druid comes with self sufficient conveniences: more than one way to solo, an awesome snare, ports, run speed buffs, the ability to fulfill more than one role in a group, and harmony to help pull. In the range of 20-50 i never had issues getting groups as a druid because of the ability to heal, but the exp soloing and quadding 34+ have also been awesome. Druids have it kind of easy compared to wizzies imo pre 50.

![]() I have a wiz. At level 30. I've had little issue (to my surprise) getting good groups.
Soloing pre-29 is pretty rough seeing as you go a half a bar of mana just to kill one DB mob. Seeing as I just got snare, haven't tried quadding yet, need to get some sow pots.

![]() Wizards are one of the most boring classes in the game. All they can really do to solo is quad - before that, it's root-nuke (which is very slow). In standard EXP groups, they are not good DPS. In AE groups or bard duos, they are great. In raids, they are great. But if you're going to be spending most of your time soloing or doing standard EXP groups, prepare for a snoozefest.
Druids have a ton of different options. They can quad, they can snare-nuke, they can root-dot, they can charm (which is faster EXP than quadding), they can fear-kite. In groups they function as a weak healer who also has access to good buffs, snare (extremely useful), harmony (extremely useful), and some weak DPS. In raids they are not great. For most players I'd recommend druid over wizard. Only reason I'd go with wizard instead is if you have a bard friend or if being useful in raids is super important for you.

![]() If you're going to get to level 60 and raid, wizard is the right choice.
If you're not planning on raiding then I have an exercise for you. Imagine a druid. Now imagine that druid with no sow, no dots, no charm, no buffs for your group, no heals, and no track. What you're left with is essentially a non-raiding wizard. Which would you rather play?

![]() I've been levelling a wizzy alt pretty much exclusively solo and have found it to be fun with a bit of twinking.
You can quad kite from 16 if you can get some jboots and if you quest or MQ the Staff of Temperate Flux for your wizzy by the time you hit 20 you'll be rocking and rolling. I had some minor twink gear and leveled to 34 with half my slots missing so its pretty cheap to get going. The going can be slow pre-16 as rooting and nuking can be pretty ineffective but buying up a ton of cb belts can negate this a bit. Once the xp dried up on belts I honed my evocation rooting and nuking in the yard in unrest until 16. By all accounts wizzies struggle to get in groups but I do get the odd tell every now and then. I chose wizzy as this char is pretty much for soloing and the potential for aoe chardok in the mid 50's sure as hell beats trying to level that as a druid.
