What's more likely:
1) Guy didn't know it had a blind component
2) Guy thought he could get away with using it in front of x many people savagely watching every single persons move looking for that sort of shit

Yea I would say they didn't know that it blinded. Same happened on red cleric botb and really happens at any botb or pvp involving clerics where no blind is aloud , they do not know the spell effects fully.

Ya Desmo did. The other person was near full life and boom. We were all in skype saying wtf just happened. Sirken noticed it in the chatlogs on what spell and said it had a blind to it. The rest is history.
