Red face Accelerate T99 Launch while the interest is high

R99 is now P99 jr. for raiders who can't cut it with the real bluebies. Hurry along the new server so we can see the PvP renaissance that will come from a fresh server that no one has cheated to the top of.

PvP players get action, Nilly gets a desolate pixel wasteland to farm and exploit without anyone keeping them out of VP.

Everyone wins.

Alecta is going as quick as he can. You don't want to open the server before it is ready and screw it up before the players have a chance to screw it up themselves.

The golden era of any server is probably the 6-12 months after launch. No reason to rush it and have game breaking issues ruin it!

What would be somewhat interesting is if they released it at roughly the same time as Velious. We all know what a time consuming expansion Velious is, Nihilum would have a real dilemma on their hands.

R99 is a good example of a server launched with a lot of bugs, it's true. Countless bugs have been fixed and improvements made over the past two years, big kudos for that. However it seems ridiculous to need 6 months to code teams into what is otherwise an already developed server

I am operating under the assumption that the coding hasn't even started. How would you know what to code yet when no ruleset has even been decided on? Alecta has stated he is working on other PVP related things to fix them first anyway.

We don't have a ton of devs for the *99 servers, wouldn't you rather them focus on fixing existing servers/content before releasing something new?

I'm saying R99 has been operating 2 years and can effectively be ported over to make the new server. The teams are the only thing to do.

As for Dullah, it's your guild that cheated to the top and caused permanent damage to the server. Now you gloat that you get to raid with impunity on a dead server

QFT. Nothing's been crossed off the WBS - which is sorta the reason I published it.

The discussion around the hardcoded / softcoded ruleset was so that I could begin coding something at least when I finished up some outstanding items in my queue.

However, time's been short this month (RL crap, wife's expecting, going to be changing jobs, moving cross country in January, blah blah blah).

Indeed. Just the teams.

Rather see progress with resists accelerated so we can start resisting snares/stuns etc like we resist roots @ 125mr! Far more important than a second pvp server.

Congrats on your big gains IRL Alecta.

Oh yes this is a good idea. Let's accelerate the ability for people to jump ship so when they fail again, they'll leave to the next box.
