![]() Hey guys just dinged 34 and was wondering what the gameplan should be for soloing my way higher. I'm geared in decent low cost shaman gear (only two spots left with banded) and have 2 ac/hp rings and a PWC. Up to 34 ive been hasting/regening myself, slowing the mob, and hammering away with the PWC. Im starting to notice now that its a bit less efficient as mobs are hitting harder that are DB now. With the new pet/nuke/scourge, would i be better off root rotting and sending in teh dog when mobs are 50% or still just hammer away with PWC until stuff really starts pounding me? Also have about 3k to spend if i needed any must have items to buy or save for (thanks for the long swords elf hos!)

![]() Dog is mostly useless on its own. Your best bet imo would try to save for a fbss (I felt like it helped me). Slow the mob and beat away w/ dog on the backside (again it seems to make a difference if dog is in the back vs. front) and go to town.
You can also talk to a mage 55+ prior to starting a grind session and donate for a muzzle of mardu. Its not huge but something like 16% worn haste item for pets. Wont make or break anything but every little bit helps.

![]() The most efficient way for you to EXP is to root-dot. Give up meleeing altogether until you hit 60 and get torpor; the damage you do is just not worth the damage you take and the med ticks you miss at your level and higher.

![]() Definitely agree. Unless you're geared to the nines I would say just root rot stuff. The dog helps a lot imo. At your level I was soloing guards in hhk for plat/xp and just root rotted and put the dog in and out. It could solo some of thr green con guards which is nice on the mana bar.

![]() 34-39 (Troll) I root dotted Sarnak Berserkers in The Overthere, collecting the warbraids. You wanna keep root on versus kiting because our dots hit for much less when the mob is moving, making them mana inefficient on the run.

![]() Group with a warrior twink who has the staff of battle, duo with him, and keep the warrior in zerking (<45% hp).
He will mow through mobs while you keep him alive and zerking.

![]() Your pet regens hp incredibly fast when he's not taking damage. I didn't even bother with slow for the most part until I moved to CoM. If you're fighting low dark blues, your pet should be engaged most of the time. Top level pet is extremely important in terms of his survivability. I'd just root/rot and throw in pet.
