Default How is grouping GMT+10?

I'm in Australia and was looking at playing on the PvE server. Was leaning towards a group oriented class such as enchanter or maybe an SK for tanking? (Are they good as group tanks?) Was interested to hear what group availability would be like across the level range. Would either of the classes mentioned be desired in groups regularly or should I look into something else?

Thanks all.

Okay so I live normally on pacific time but recently traveled to Australia and now I am in Japan. I went on a bit when I had some down time and grouping is not that hard depending on what time you play at. However if you are talking like 7pm or later than it is a bit harder, not impossible. There should be enough people to get a group almost at any time but you will have to go to the more popular zones for those lvls. Like last night I went on my bard and soloed MM until a there was enough to group up, this was around 10pm Japan time.

Also enchanters are great solo classes with charm. SK on the other hand unless you are twinked soloing until the higher lvls is a pain and even then grouping is faster. Play what you think you will actually enjoy because it is a long way to 60.

For the last part of your question, yes SK are great group tanks most people will like you but you will get the odd ones that will not because of the exp penalty. Higher lvls is where you might get shunned a little bit but normally you can get a group. Enchanters are liked throughout your lvls, higher ones especially and there is usually always a group that could use one. Both are liked for different reasons because of there roles, but as I said play what you think you will enjoy the most even if it is not the most popular class. Heck I play a SK and a Bard and if I out lvl my friends I am thinking of doing maybe a Paly, Ranger or Rogue.

I play off peak hours i have a few chars my monk prob my fav also have a druid and a ranger.

If i try to seek a group normally il find one or a duo. Normally the pop when i play is between 300-500.. Ish

My experience if you enjoy your class/classes you play if you have lots of solo downtime its no huge biggie.

Versatility is your best friend when playing off-hours.

You may want to avoid the entirely group-centric classes (Warrior, Rogue, Cleric, monk to a degree) and play something with a high degree of flexibility. Top choices in my case would be Enchanter, Shaman, Wizard, Mage, or any of the hybrids. Druid also works but the high end can be punishing to find groups, and necromancer is a really hard sell (sadly. I love a good grouping necro).

Good luck on your journeys.

I rolled up a dark elf enchanter this evening. Died repeatedly to angry bears and wolves in nektulos forest. I played a high level bard back a few years ago on live and enjoyed the group desirability of that, but I thought I might try something slightly different, now that I'm older I don't think I could twist 4 songs without severe RSI.

Enchanter is always useful in groups and can solo great. There are tons of enchanters on the server, but never seems to be a lack of desire for one in any group. Probably the best choice. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
