Default Server Wide Agreement-Nobles

It is the opinion of every guild on the server, both class R and class C, that if the Nobles were to pop daily we would all work together in a player-made-agreement to divide them in accordance to our sky agreement.( you can find this agreement on page 12 of this thread Noble Thread) We have determined that if the OOAs remain up we are capable of achieving this goal. We thought about this because it was in fact classic and very viable to leave the OOAs up to generate more Nobles...

As we see on Drexxel's sky thread it was confirmed in 5/28/2006 that there was 7 OOAs up at one time.* This allowed for more Nobles to spawn.

http://mysite.verizon.net/drexxell/eq/planeofsky.html

however, we have a slight problem.

We are extremely grateful to Rogean and the other GMs for increasing the server repops and working with us on the new changes, however, I'd like to consider changing how the server repops effect Nobles. For the sake of the betterment of the server and in the pursuit to keep things as classic as possible, is there any way to change the OOAs so that they do not depop on a server reset? I believe they are considered flagged as a triggered mob and such things depop every time. You all are considerably more knowledgeable about such things than I, but is it possible to change that so they do not depop as frequently so we can bring back this much loved mechanic?

**(Hand of Veeshan cycle & Multiple Overseers of Air

This island is step 2 of 3 in this cycle. Step 1 was killing Noble Dojorn on Island 1.5 (who is on a 7 day respawn cycle) which caused the Overseer of Air to spawn on this island. Killing the Overseer of Air on this island will cause the Hand of Veeshan to spawn on Island 8.

Note that multiple Overseers of Air can be up at once (due to people killing Noble Dojorn without killing the Overseer, who apparantly has no de-spawn timer). [Confirmed 5/28/2006]. During one visit we had 7 Overseers on track, though visually only two appeared to be at the windmill. Although right on top of one another, they did not appear to assist one another. Our puller took a Death Touch, and then our Main Assist pulled that same mob out and away from the windmill to fight, without any of the other Overseers joining. After one kill, the Hand of Veeshan was confirmed as spawned, and we left the other Overseers (1 or 6, who knows) at the windmill entrance.))

I have no particular stake here anymore, but I would be shocked if Rogean implements this. Aside from the annoyance of coding up, after a year we'd have some 90 Overseers up and one Noble popping every 2 hours.

Well, indeed it would be great if the real patches/resets didn't wipe the OOAs.
In this case the server would have to cap the number of OOAs to a reasonable number.

But all of this requires a lot of coding and tweaking I guess :/

Correct me if I'm wrong, but on live, during patch days, everything would be reset, including sky.

Not to rain on your guys' parade but this probably is not going to happen =X

On live they did, but on live the servers weren't resetting so often that the OOAs could reach higher numbers. My point is it is currently classic in terms of mechanics but not classic in terms of practical application. The continual server resets make any sort of agreement on the OOAs not possible because we all remember having the capability of 5+ OOAs for longer periods of time and people are set in their memory of classic. They think that for an agreement to be made, the OOAs have to function in the same way they did on live, 5+ OOAs = 1 Noble per day + some. We've been trying to recreate that for 3 months and 10 days now and have not been able to due to the frequency in server resets.

My recollection of live is a patch every wed morning and a patch wed night to fix what they broke wed morning.

I find it unlikely that they will change the server code for us.

How about this for consideration. What if we tracked and broke up spawns like we do on the R/FFA/C system and let the R guilds handle it like we want to and the C handle it like they want to. Its worked for every other mob, why not this? If the GMs don't want to acknowledge it in their script then so be it, that doesn't mean we are incapable of organizing this.

If everyone has been happy with the way the R/FFA/C system works now, I don't see how anyone would have a problem with it here.

That is, until we get them more regularly. If we are capable of getting or 5+ OOAs up we freeze the system tracker where it is until a server reset and then it starts where it left off. Very simple, very familiar, very possible.

This is probably the only idea that would actually work. Gives everyone a noble until (if ever) everyone gets their own noble without using the rotation system.
