Game Mechanics: Anson - Stanos Spawning

Spawning Stanos for purposes of epic, or head, should be doable by any class given decent (see non-KoS) faction:

If this guy is not up, you need to kill his ph- a smuggler- that cons light blue to a 65 monk. He was pretty easy to solo, and both times we killed one ph and Anson spawned. When he spawns, you can sneak behind him if you have bad faction, tell him "I need to see Stanos" and Stanos will spawn. Stanos is also the only smuggler that still has old world models.

Main thing to note is that no quest in Classic or Kunark checked for your class. Although it may appear that way since several factions are difficult to raise if not a certain class.

Only faction and on rare occasions level was checked. Class checking occurred later, I think Velious or Luclin, I forget which though.

That doesn't say the author personally spawned the mob. It instead explains how to. "We" quite possibly involved a rogue.

A big thing to note here is that text triggers can be activated via sneak. This was patched out when hide was (correctly) disallowed from activating text triggers. Quests requiring indifferent or lower faction should allow sneak to be used.

Another issue: The pouch from Malka is supposed to spawn Stanos when given to Anson. It does not do this.

KoS (Dark elf) rogues are currently unable to complete their epic without assistance from a 50+ rogue. They should be able to do this via sneak text or turn in. Neither works currently.

Malka Rale says 'Ok! I am trusting you. Take this pouch to Vilnius in West Karana. Last word I had from him, he was hanging out near one of the bandit camps. Be careful, since he does not know you. Just give him the pouch, and tell him I was.. delayed. While you are doing that, I will be thinking of a way to get out of this slimehole. With any luck, the Circle will learn the pouch is out of Qeynos, and will assume I got away. That means they won't be looking for me here.'

If you wish, you can skip the three side quests with Vilnius the Small below and hand the pouch in directly to Anson (see below). The two blades you receive from Vilnius can also drop from the later mobs you have to kill if you are lucky. Renux always drops the Jagged Diamond Dagger; General V'Ghara will sometimes drop the Cazic Quill.

It is recommended that two high level groups be used. Stanos is spawned by telling Anson McCabe (NPC in Highpass Bandit Camp) that you “Need to see Stanos“ - if you have decent faction he pops. If you have bad faction, you need to get a Stanos Pouch from Qeynos Aquaducts and give it to Anson, and Stanos appears. Basically, someone with good faction can just ask for him - I've killed a few dozen bandits in this camp and still only need to ask to see Stanos to spawn him. If Anson is not in spot, placeholders (bandits) need to be killed until he spawns - he is normally there though. I've killed bandits in the past to spawn him as well.

No quest triggers or hails check class at this point in EQ. That was coding added after Kunark.
