Bonethunder staff quest

If I want a bonethunder staff as a dwarf I need warmly faction with the Knights of Thunder, correct?

Are bandit sashes and bone chips the way to go about that? Anyone know about how long that might take to raise the needed faction?

Completed quest a few months ago with kindly faction after turning in gp to Lashun Novashine. Wasn't expensive just tedious, be prepared to turn in lots of it in 2 or 4gp increments...I forget which. GL

So I was never able to give the note to Drosco before he aggro'ed me... is that why i never got the Order of Thunder and thus the staff? I needed better faction before camping him or what?
