brand new mag

Hello everyone! I'm new to the game and I was wondering why I can't see my pet. He/it only seem to show up when I start fighting. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong. I was also told that I could give my pet different items to hold. I don't see how i can give my pet anything if i can't see him.

Are you maybe using Air pet and they go invis when not in combat?
