Early Warrior Weapon Choices
Coming up on level 13 as a warrior and I'm looking to get into some proccing 1H weapons. I've seen there a few options out there, but I'm unsure of what the proc. levels are. They're listed on Allakhazam, but is this information accurate for p99?
The items in question are the Gnoll Hide Lariat, Tentacle Whip, and Obsidian Shard. The obsidian shard is out of my price range for now, but in what order could these be rated for agro abilities? Sidenote: Is there any reason for me to keep my 2HB skill up?

Don't bother with the gnoll hide lariat, it is terrible. You could grab a polished granite tomahawk and that is a decent starter weapon (procs at 10). I bought one for 50pp. Tentacle whip is pretty bad on agro since proc is just a lifetap and low damage at that. Obsidian Shard is pretty much the goto agro weapon I have seen until 37 when people try to pick up Yaks (0 sec stun proc).

Use a PGT until about level 20, with an O-shard in secondary. Then switch to two shards and use these until you can get SSoYs. These are the only really viable and easily attainable options. Forget Lariats, they suck and won't proc until level 25 anyway.
As for 2HB, I don't think there are any good ones at this point, but there are in Kunark and Velious. You could wait until then, but training a weapon skill from scratch at high level is a huge drag, especially the 2H ones.

If you can't afford the Obsidian Shard, go with a PGT / Shield of the Slain Unicorn. It's cheap (or people give it away) and you'll get some piercing practice in. Hitting for 20 with your offhand aint bad, plus the extra AC is nice. In comparison to the other cheap offhand weapons you could equip, it's actually pretty nice.
Save all the plat you can for that first shard.

Warrior 1H Weapon Guide:
Level 1-16 If you're a adventurous and patient enough, camp a rotting Painbringer at SolB zone in. It's the best low-level aggro weapon to get - just take into consideration that the proc has a small ae range. Level 16-37 Obsidian Shards are the way to go. If you can't afford 2 already, take PGT or Painbringer (if no cc in group) offhand. Level 37+ Drop Obsidian Shards for Yaks, as with every Level it will become harder to hold aggro over melees. From 40 up it's always impossible to out aggro monks and rogues without Ykesha proc. There are no other pre plane 1H weapons to consider in regard to aggro. Everything else would be a waste of money.

I've had good results with the Axe of Slayers...pretty much a giant pgt. I would say my aggro with the axe is as good or better than with two obsidian shards. once high enough lvl to proc them, as said above, get some ssoys.

How is Painbringer a level 1 - 16 weapon?
It doesn't proc until 35. For a very basic weapon, you can quest for a 6/26 dwarven 1h axe. Get the Brass Earring (2ac) off the Taskmaster in Crushbone. Turn it in to a dwarf slave and turn the note you receive into Haldin in BBM. On my first try I got the axe, subsuquent tries got me bronze weapons.

Painbringer proc is flagged as level 0.

Ahh, Lucy had it at 35 from the beginning.
But the history data showed that it wasn't added until 2003. The posters on Allah call it the Trainbringer because apparently it will aggro mobs through walls. Crazy

Low level groups don't usually have crowd control anyway.
