Default Taco Bell

Every sixty seconds, thirty acres of rain forest are destroyed in order
to raise beef for Taco Bell restaurants that sell it to people, giving them
strokes and heart attacks, which raise medical costs and insurance
rates, providing insurance companies with more money to invest in large
corporations that branch out further into the Third World so they can
destroy more rain forests.

Production is driven by demand. The populous at large doesn't give a shit about the rainforest and so they purchase goods from places that tear down rainforest.

As strange as it may sound, business and free trade is the solution to this problem. The problem with the rainforest (and indeed the proverbial 'problem of the commons' that people use to try to discredit free enterprise as a solution to applied force) is that no one with any sway owns them. If Taco Bell owned these rainforest lands, they'd be less likely to slash and burn for places for cows to shit...they would invest in their interests, similar to what is done in the US (See: sustainable logging operations and why they don't go fucknuts logging shit D=).

We laugh at the savage who cuts down the tree to get to the fruit, but yet, we do it on a larger scale every day ^_^

Why the fuck are people so defensive of trees? They're not a non-renewable resource like oil or whatever. All you need to grow a tree is some dirt and water and light - it's fucking easy.

How do you think it will be when you are 60? seriously think about it, we have already almost outgrown this planet. Your post on a video games server is not going to fix anything, but I guess if it makes you feel better.[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
