Default how long it takes to hit 60

I was reading a thread out of curiosity

http://www.reddit.com/r/project1999/..._to_max_level/

2 of the people commenting said that getting to level 25 is about 1% of the time it take to get to 60. FYI I have/had never gotten to 60. I have a level 30 necro atm, and though I havent kept track of the time it took me to get to 30, I would probably say it was ~ 120 hours of playtime. Maybe 75 hours it took me to get to level 25?

Anyway, if it took me 75 hours to get 1% of the way, that would mean it would take me

99x75hours to get to 60 = 7425 hours from 25 to 60

I highly doubt this is the case, but was hoping someone could shed some light on this.

i'm sure someone can do the math based on exp per level and exp gained per level of mob per level of character and ideal mob level per character per level etc. and integrate up to 60.

but, pulling numbers completely out of my ass, i'd say 1-25 takes at least 10-15% of your total leveling time. this number probably shrinks a lot if you're well-twinked and can just crush your way through the first 25 levels.

Massively exaggerated.

I managed to get a character from 1-42 (Barbarian Rogue, minor xp bonus) playing half assed hours and sometimes skipping days over the course of about 3 weeks to a month. You could probably do this in two weeks if you pull stupid long gaming sessions and don't play a hybrid.

Most of my friends that I leveled up with are already 53-54 due to my decreased play time and me having quit my Rogue to play a Monk.

TL;DR: You could do 1-60 in a month on a low XP penalty class. Maybe 2-3 months with an xp penalty and lower play time.

They probably mean 1% of the total xp, not "time," to get to 60, since you need more and more xp every level.

Mobs give more xp as they get higher, but you require more xp to level and they take more time/effort to kill, so it is a balance.

I could see 5-10% being a more reasonable number instead of 1%.

I think, playing regularly, and without being twinked out or powerleveled, 1-60 = about a year. Sure, you can speed it up (or slow it down) but I am not sure it is reasonable to hit 60 much faster than that playing as a casual gamer.

Putting things on the original time frame, that seems to be correct. When original Kunark came out, the servers were not jammed full of level 50's. And months into Kunark, 60's were still pretty rare.

This goes against everything modern games make you think about gaming, of course. I think the norm now is, you are supposed to be able to "experience" most of what a game has to offer within 1 -2 weeks.

L.O.L.

edit: kickass sig Lojik. too funny.

I'd wager 1-50 is equal to 51-60

From my experience, Soloing / duoing as a chanter, regular levels 25ish up took an average of about 3.5 hours per level, hell levels closer to 7.5-8. Scale that up 54+ for whatever the multiplier is. That's actual killing monsters for exp time, not the time it takes to put a group together / move to a camp.
