That's a pretty boring sandwich. If I'm gonna eat Yankee, I would prefer a cheesesteak or a Reuben.

New Orleans' Muffuletta:
-hard Genoa salami
-capicola
-mortadella
-mozzarella
-provolone
-olive salad
-roasted red peppers (not really traditional)
-olive oil
-usually on a large round Italian bread with sesame seeds, but your Yankee hoagie load will do

Otherwise, seafood: shrimp, oyster, or when in season, softshell crab.
