Default Favorite EQ Race? - The Poll

Making a poll out of this thread since Azeth mentioned it and it's a pretty good idea!

Second this. Where're the moderators? Drakkins are the biggest joke in EQ.

I quit before drakkin were put in, and for nostalgia came back about 2 years ago and messed around on live. I saw drakkin and was very concerned about the extra nails being put in EQ's coffin =P

Listen, everyone crying about Drakkin: I just put them in the poll for completeness's sake. I didn't even know they existed until I started playing P99 and reading the forums.

I must throw another vote in the "What the fuck is a Drakkin?" pile.

The females are attractive (in an 80's girly kind of way), but all in all, I just never felt the Drakkin models fit in. They look too young to me. I don't know if anyone else notices, but ever since luclin the models tend to look younger and less comical. It's like a med student in a white coat. All business. No room for humor or fun or deviation from the idea of being a tough youthful super hero. Drakkins, for me, highlight it. And the whole race was just filler for the TSS 1-70 grind (new player). Always felt shallow to me.

The old models aren't too proud to make fun of themselves. Understand?

I think probably 90% of us are young and can relate to youthful features. In my 20's I hated the drakkin; not much has changed. I'm not afraid of playing young characters, there's just something so stale about the newer models. I also am playing DDO. I play modern games. Sometimes I like the models and sometimes I don't. I like a model that can be young and old, that can deviate from the common mold of tough youthful super hero. The models for the races are important for me because it's a form of self expression. Many people will choose a race because of how it looks and behaves and what its history is not just what its stats are (powergaming).

I know not everyone will feel this way. But in all honesty, even the Frogloks and Vah Shir shouldn't be on this list since this is p1999. Those races don't exist on this server and aren't planned.

Man, I'm surprised dark elves are so popular. They were always one of my least favorite races. Granted, though, I don't know a hella lot about EQ lore. I'm not surprised that Iksar have the lead, but I'm proud of my favored halflings holding up third place.
