Default Quests

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if it makes sense to do quests early on
in the game, other than the well known trade in quests
(Bone chips, crushbone belts, ...). My char is a necro lvl. 8
gnome and I'm trying to decide if I should do some of the
quests in Ak'anon, keep on clearing kobold camps in steamfont
mountains or move to crushbone...

What do u think?

Depends on the class. There are some low level quests that produce decent items, which....you'd have to look them up.

Well there are people on here with the mindset of making all their own gear with Tradeskills and Quests. It is amazingly slow going but there is a lot of pride associated with doing it. You had to do it years ago on here and when Red started also. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I liked it, but being level 15 for a year sort of sucks also, mainly because if you Want to do tradeskills you need to get higher and higher levels to do good, great combines for good, great gear to wear. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

But lots of people in the Tunnel sell gear they made to others, so there is a market for it for people that don't have the time to put into doing it, or just don't Want to do it. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The "optimal" level for crushbone belts is around level 7. At level 8 you'd still get pretty good exp. Level 9 it starts to fall off. Shoulderpads will take you a bit further. However, if this is your first character, selling the belts (3-4p) and pads (5-6p) can be a better option to help you get some initial upgrades.

If you're a class that gets slow XP when soloing (like my Pally), belts are still viable XP even at 13 or 14. I was grabbing 15 belts or so in Crushbone each session, plus getting a bit of experience on some of the Centurions. When the class penalty was removed, I was getting 1.5% or so per belt on turn-in.

Did see quite a few people paying for belts in Faydark though, anywhere from 2 to 5pp per belt.
