Default Former Bertoxx player (back in the day) - Hey again EQ!

So after some difficulties I got EQ running up on my Linux Mint machine. I used to play back in 1999-2001 on Bertoxxulus server (anyone remember Bert hall website?). I used to play in a guild called Divine. Just seeing if I might bump into some peeps.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and to this awesome and very helpful community. I don't have a set char I'm going to play at the moment but I'm thinking bard (I always wanted a bard). I definitely won't be hardcore but I would love to reignite some nostalgia and relive some glory days. My previous char was a troll shadowknight but I don't think I want to do that again (I used to be real big on role playing back then too haha).

Oh! I do have a quick question regarding gameplay... I notice when I rotate the camera it kind of locks. For instance, when I hold my right click and pan the camera around the vertical axis, it stops, then I release the right click and click it again, and then I can continue rotating the camera (until it locks again). Anyone else have that issue?

Mouse lock is probably because you're running EQ in a Linux window and the mouse gets out of the window. Maybe your window manager has an option to "catch" the mouse in a window, or something like that.

Ah that makes sense, I wonder if I can find something in the eqclient.ini file for that. Thanks!

Ahh I remember that guild I think. I think "Prophecy" was like the big raid guild. Then there was Phantom Raiders and I remember the GM of that guild was a monk (Rakk?) who was like always online. Then there was that guild "Guk to Fey Trading Company" which had a real cool name.

Anyway, nice to see ya.

Yah Prophecy was the big guild, saw a few of them come here. I always remembered Divine being a strong guild too, along the lines of Phantom Raiders, no? Think Dragon Council and Order of the Scattered Winds were competitive guilds too.

I think we were usually like the "3rd guild" in terms of progression. I remember when Temple of Veeshan started getting raided.... Prophecy was going for the north hall (were all the dragons were), PR went east (which was the dragon faction I think), and Divine went west hall (although we never killed any of the big wurms or dragons). I didn't play after Velious (well I briefly came back for Planes of Power but didn't last long).

There were a lot of cool people on that server and a lot of friendly guilds I remember.
