Default Vampiric Embrace, multiple procs

The way Vampiric Embrace works seems a bit odd.
Sometimes I get two procs in the same round, without performing a double attack with my weapon.
And a few times this evening, I performed triple procs:

[Tue Nov 30 23:44:35 2010] Gabam beams a smile at an initiate familiar
[Tue Nov 30 23:44:35 2010] Gabam says 'Ahhh, I feel much better now...
[Tue Nov 30 23:44:35 2010] an initiate familiar was hit by non-melee for 37 points of damage.
[Tue Nov 30 23:44:35 2010] An initiate familiar staggers.

My SK is lvl 25, so it can't be caused by a riposte.
Also I didn't slam at the same time (and I never saw a proc on slam anyway).

Seems they adjusted the rate of this spell now. I have been fighting all morning from 9-12 with 2 procs so far. This is why i went onto the boards to check if someone else has noticed this. Is this correct? anyone notice its lack of procing? A necro pet is proc a bunch of times per fight and i procd two times in hours of soloing.
