Default Instances

I have no desire to be elite or care if I ever reach max level and become as powerful as possible. What would be nice is to experience content. Show up to a dungeon and explore without all the freaking camps taken. It would be awesome if all the pre 50 dungeons could be instanced.

Edit, I took my premade group to Permafrost cause I thought it would be mostly empty. Every damn camp was taken. If I had never been to Permafrost, I would not have known Goblins inhabited the place. This does not always happen to my group when we show up, but we even had to deal with contested content on freakin Kerra Island.

/agree but the neckbeards would get russled. I doubt the staff has any desire or motivation to implement instancing.

Can just roll on a custom server if you don't want to see anyone else.

going to dungeons and finding others there is one of hallmarks of classic eq. you can include porters in your premades if you think it'll be an issue.

In an mmorpg, other players ARE part of the content. Maybe you are looking for a CRPG? Skyrim is still worth a play if you haven't yet. I'd suggest Legendary Edition off of Steam [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Completely missing the point, we have a porter. I am just frustrated with showing up to zones that are completely camped. Permafrost out of all places was void of goblins. I don't mind other players in outdoor zones and the EC tunnel and cities.

Honestly I wish I knew how this was done, don't have the time, nor smart enough probably.

If you have a porter, then port somewhere else. You yourself said that permafrost being camped in every spot is unusual. Go to another dungeon until you find one that isn't, or wait for the campers to leave.

EQ (at least in this era) has always been about not being able to do everything you want when you want it. The whole game revolves around that mechanic. To want something else is to want a different game.

Yes you are. Maybe consider red? Then you can kill anyone in your way. I'm not a red player here, but fits fine for others I do recognize (I play other games like it).

Classic EQ1 is notoriously not an instance multiplayer game, like a very few others that may still exist. Lots of those instance types of games for you to pick from though. It would seem only a "nedkbeard" (as someone mentioned) would be wanting every game to be the same, all having instanced safe space to hide themselves away form possible player confrontations resulting in discomfort and hurt feelings.

Believe it or not, some people really-really dislike instancing in their game. Some people don't get that though, expect every game to be instanced and leave such other players with little or no other choices left. Don't be a neckbeard, and it's not classic anyway.

The PEQTGC (Project EQ: The Grand Creation) emu server has more zones and a lower population, so if you primarily want to experience the content, that's a good choice. And doing that doesn't take extra time or technical knowhow.
